Apps for Asia

Assalammualaikum...Hallo...Ni hao

I just got an email from tandemic team about a very interesting competition for all of us.."THE DEVELOPER"

This is the content of that email

We’d like to invite you to participate in Apps For Asia, a competition by Microsoft and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to build apps to solve social problems. The seven focus areas are:
  • Civil Society
  • Education
  • Governance
  • Transport
  • Urban Development
  • Water
  • Youth

Here is a short video by one of the Makeweekend facilitators, Kal Joffres,  on the competition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efE7RIRKoYo

Winning the competition gives you a chance to showcase your app at ADB’s 46th Annual Meeting of Board of Governors in Delhi, India, on 2-5 May 2013, and gain exposure in 60 ADB member countries. This is in addition to the prize money worth up to RM15,000.

If you are a developer, you probably know a lot about building software, but not a lot about social causes, or where you should start.

We can help you with that, through our Makeweekend Ideation Workshop where you will be able to refine your ideas and get feedback from experts in the focus areas outlined above.

You can find out more about the Makeweekend Ideation Workshop at weekend.my/appsforasia
and register at https://appsforasia-makeweekend.eventbrite.com

Join us for the 1 day Makeweekend Ideation workshop on 31st January 2013 at Info-Trek, Amcorp Mall and we’ll help you create better Apps For Asia.

Visit the website at bit.ly/appsforasia for more details.

Lets make our holiday fill with something interesting and who know your apps worth RM15K.

That all I want to share for today. Really hope someone from UMP can win at least the third place.
